Antal Rogán delivers the opening speech of the conference

Tomorrow the four-day TECHXPO 2024 event, which will bring together prominent figures from the Hungarian and regional business, government and academic communities in Budapest on 21-24 November, will kick off with a major international conference programme, with the opening keynote speech by Antal Rogán, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, on Digital Citizenship.

The conference programme on 21 November will cover a wide range of topics, from the social impact of AI to the impact of technology on health, economy and sustainability, with speakers presenting on the current and future impact of artificial intelligence, digitalisation and technological developments.

The programme of the opening day of TECHXPO will be presented by Minister Rogán Antal Rogán and András Both, CEO of the Digital Hungary Agency with a keynote speech by Gerd Leonhard, one of the world’s top 10 futurologists. He will be followed by Hong-Eng Koh, Senior Global Public Sector Industry Researcher at Huawei Technologies, Dr. Gábor Prószéky, Director General of the HUN-REN Linguistics Research Centre, Gábor Bojár, Graphisoft founder, and Péter Szabó, CEO of Microsoft Hungary, among others. The presentations will focus on the future of artificial intelligence and industrial digitalisation, showing the impact of technology on society and the economy.

On Friday 22 November, the morning session will feature presentations and panel discussions on topics such as the potential applications of artificial intelligence in logistics and healthcare, and future challenges in cyber defence. The programme will also include a sustainability session on “Technology is not another planet – Digital Sustainability”, which will address the relationship between technology and environmental sustainability from two angles.

TECHXPO will also host the 3rd Swiss-Hungarian Health Forum, in cooperation between the Swiss-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and the Embassy of Switzerland, which will focus on public health and innovation. During the private event, experts will discuss how digitalisation can contribute to the development of health systems and improve the health of the population.

Expo and experiential programmes: focus on the latest developments

From Friday afternoon, TECHXPO opens its doors to the public with a weekend of exciting festival activities and interactive experiences. The festival and fair will showcase innovative tech companies showcasing their products and developments, including the latest smart devices, 5G solutions and VR experiences, as well as the revolutionary impact of technology on literature and fashion. TECHXPO visitors will also be able to watch a live pit stop wheel change race on a Red Bull F1 model car and meet their favourite e-sports stars at PlayIT’s official afterparty, where the PS5 Pro will be unveiled. The event will also feature a Star Wars exhibition, Minecraft simulator and a spectacular cosplay show. And the organisers are also preparing a Digital Citizenship (DC) programme, where you can experience what it’s like to be a digital citizen.

The organisers’ goal is to make TECHXPO the most important technology event in Central Europe by 2026, where business and the general public can find their place.
